Many locals lost their livelihoods in the earthquake and with tourism yet to return to the valley now is the time to train and upskill Langtang people.
Working with groups including the Langtang Disaster Relief fund, money raised from Friends in High Places is directed towards training and development projects to help create new opportunities for locals to generate an income. From guide and porter training at the Nepal Academy of Tourism to cooking and hospitality workshops, cheese making and craft, Langtang Locals are relishing the chance to learn new skills. Importantly,it is an opportunity for locals to have fun, heal and regain their confidence following the traumatic events following the earthquake.
